International Students: Why do you speak English?

It’s time we had a conversation about cultural appropriation. You might be thinking, “this is a tired subject, for the love of God, just don’t be a dick and you’ll be fine.” I’m here to tell you that’s not true. It seems, my friends, that we’ve permitted the most heinous of acts to occur: we’ve institutionalized cultural appropriation.

I am, of course, talking about International Students’ use of the English language. Why are we allowing these people to take our language? What is this bullshit about “this is America, speak English” that’s being spouted by the liberal media? Are we expected to just sit here and take it? Watch them take our melting-pot of culture and melt in their shit?!

It’s time to stop.

It’s time to take our language back.

I propose that from now on, all International Students be forbidden from speaking in English. British? Don’t care. This is America. Who the fuck do you think you are speaking our language? My language is not yours to pervert for your sinister goals. I don’t want to see you appropriate the title of American. You’re not American. You may be on our soil, but you are not one of us.

So, stop speaking our fucking language. The 4th of July is not yours to celebrate. You don’t get to remember the Alamo.

These God Damn Internationals (henceforth known as Geeds) shouldn’t be allowed to keep this up. We need to educate them in *their* language and give them spaces where they can express themselves and celebrate *their* culture.

Yes, America is a melting pot of culture—our culture.
