An open letter to men studying Compsci: Golden showers don't count

BRYAN CENTER—To the men at Duke studying Computer Science: this is a letter of love.

I have infinite respect for the men in both Trinity and Pratt studying the noble, thankless professions of engineering and tech. Despite the low pay and easy classes, they manage to stay humble and grounded. However, after another year studying compsci with these great men, I have just a few notes.

First of all, when we say y’all need to take a shower, golden showers don’t count. Neither does walking in the rain for a slightly extended period of time. Even if it’s during a tornado warning–that does not mean the rain has extra strength cleaning power.

And a side note: the janitor at Fitz is not a substitute for friends, although he is great and my new father figure, so I would prefer it if you did not hog him please.

But back to the point, before you sell out to the military industrial complex or silicon valley, please consider getting a bottle of shampoo. Maybe even some conditioner! I don’t want to push too hard or anything, so stop me if I’m rambling. Just please, before we go back to in-person classes and I don’t have my mask to protect me, take a shower.
