WU Restaurants Respond Reasonably to Inflation by Doubling Prices

DURHAM, NC—Every restaurant in the Brodhead Center has unanimously voted to double prices in response to national inflation rates—just because they felt like it. While inflation has affected all facets of life, from the grocery store to the gas station, many Duke students entered the academic year hoping the Brodhead Center would provide a safe haven from their economic woes. It has not. Prices have been doubled while portions were accordingly cut in half.

When asked to comment, Mo Knee Grahbber, a representative of Duke Dining, stated, “Gas prices doubled. Food is gas for the human body.” As a result of these high prices, many students have taken to ingesting gasoline as a replacement for the Daily Devil Meal.
